FEED THE NEED Putting our faith into motion by feeding the body, mind and soul

Bible Study

CHRIST IS RISEN!  NOW WHAT?

Too often our excitement seems to peak at the celebration of Easter, then begin to deflate.  Yet the story does not end there!  This four week study will look at Jesus' activities in the period between the resurrection and the ascension; and will conclude just before Pentecost (May 20).

Classes:

Week 1     (April 23)    Appearance to Mary Magdelene, the Great Commission

Week 2     (April 30)    The road to Emmaus

Week 3     (May 7)       Appearance to the disciples

Week 4     (May 14)     The Ascension

Expectations:

The study runs for four weeks.  A the beinning of each week, a reading assignment and discussion questions will be posted.  During the week, complete the reading and comment on the discussion questions.  The intent of the discussion questions is to be an ongoing discussion - so don't just post a response to the moderator and go away- it is important to read and respond to comments other participants have made as well, just as we would do in a face-to-face group meeting.  We suggest checking back a couple of times during the week to read and respond to new comments.

Previous Bible Session Resources

Apps in the Bible! We rely on our smartphones today - but how did folks in the Bible get along without them? Our topical Bible study explores what equivalent systems were used in the Bible - and how God uses them today. No smartphone required!

Bible Pathways is a small group Bible study series, written to provide a one-hour weekly study session, with each session focusing on one book of the Bible.

One Night With The King! is a four part study to accompany the 2006 film of the same name. The book of Esther is called the greatest short story in Jewish literature. This Bible book may make no mention of God at all, but it has everything else! A wild party, a banished queen, a harem, eavesdroppers, plots, a beautiful new queen with a big secret, an evil villain, a harem, seven eunichs, and chaos in the streets! "It could be that you were made queen for a time like this!"

CREED - What Christian's believe and why.   This was offered during Lent of 2018.   Exploring the book by Adam Hamilton allowed participants to delve deeply into the Apostles Creed, one of the oldest creeds in Christendom.   There are still books in the church office should you wish to explore and gain insight on this amazing statement of faith.
