FEED THE NEED Putting our faith into motion by feeding the body, mind and soul

Choirs

Choirs

The principle Choral Ensemble of First United Methodist Church known as the Senior Choir, sings at the weekly worship service in our historic Sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM.   We practice weekly on Thursday nights from 6:30 - 8 PM in the Sanctuary.  In addition to the weekly services at which we lead the congregational song;  we also lead several seasonal special services where more choral (and other instrumentalists and ensembles) music can be explored.

Since the present building was consecrated in 1868, there has been a Choral ensemble leading the congregations singing at our main worship services.  This legacy continues to this day as we continue to lead worship services where the music offered can gather us to sing the great hymns of our faith, or to hear a choral work offered up on behalf of us all in moments of reflection.

We are an Affiliate Member in the Royal School of Church Music in America  and singers can benefit from the coaching we offer our singers under the VOICE FOR LIFE training curriculum that the RSCM supports with Training, competitions, and Summer singing camps.  We have room for Bass, Tenor, Alto and Soprano Voices.

If you wish to be part of this choir, please contact our Director of Music, Kevin G. Lindsay, and he will be happy to talk to you about the opportunities singing in a choir can offer you.
